Is there a different image besides the first B&W image? All look good, but the first isn't fitting with the us of the environment. I have to say the the last two are by far the best. Small issues with some continuity of scale and use of the environment, but mainly the first image... Why is it B&W as opposed to the others being color and why the tighter crop?
Composition-wise I think the portrait with him and the drums really portrays his child side with the story you told us about him wanting to follow in his fathers footsteps. It gives the idea that he is still a child in so many ways.
